The breakfast was a standout, with a good spread of hot and cold options. The location is super convenient, right in the heart of the city with easy access to parking around the corner.
Some aspects of the facilities need attention-rooms are on the smaller side. The bathrooms show their age, especially the showers, which can be less than satisfactory. Cleanliness was a concern too. The evening meal options were very limited, often just soup and bread, which left a number of diners dissatisfied.

Charming locale with good breakfasts
The Grand Hotel Arendal exudes historical charm, adorned with nautical decor. I particularly enjoyed the extensive breakfast with fresh selections. The central location is perfect for exploring.
My room felt cramped and the bathroom appeared outdated. I also faced issues with noise from the street and the soup and bread evening meal left much to be desired. It felt more like a snack than a proper dinner.

marco polo, set within 10 minutes' walk, was the best for dining. wi fi worked throughout the property. it took 10 minutes to reach bystranda on foot. we loved the fact that we chose arendal maritime.

This hotel had the audacity to provide a meal that was literally just bread and soup, not exactly a culinary delight. To top it off, my lightbulb was out and the curtains were broken, yet no one offered me any special treatment. I almost considered a good review, but it just couldn't happen.
